Application<ul><li>Mines, workshops and service stations: Absorbs and contains oil, petrol, diesel, coolants and chemical spillages </li><li>Industrial premises, paint and chemical stores: Absorbs paints, inks, solvents, weak acids and bases, disinfectants and other chemicals </li><li>Domestic: Ideal for domestic spills and absorbs grease from barbecue pits </li></ul>Key Features<ul><li>Absorbs immediately on contact </li><li>Strong wicking action pulls spills from surfaces </li><li>All natural mineral - contains no chemicals and is workplace safe </li><li>Exceeds EPA landfill leachate tests </li><li>Suitable for use on more hazardous chemical spills than most other spill absorbents </li></ul>Product Use<ul><li>Assess the risk posed by the spill. Alert Emergency Authorities if required </li><li>Select appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (e.g. gloves, goggles, disposal coveralls) </li><li>Contain the spill. Create a dam by pouring Vulcan Industrial Absorbent around the perimeter of the spill </li><li>Absorb the dammed liquid by pouring Vulcan Industrial Absorbent over the remaining spill </li><li>Using a broom, work the absorbent into the material, until all liquid is absorbed </li><li>Shovel up the absorbent and place in a sealed bag </li><li>Dispose of used absorbent in accordance with all applicable state and federal regulations </li><li>Report the spill to your supervisor of EHS officer </li><li>Order replacement stocks of Vulcan Universal Absorbent </li></ul>CautionAbsorbing hazardous chemicals will make the absorbent retain the same or similar hazards as the liquid absorbed. The MSDS of the liquid absorbed should be consulted for proper handling procedures and appropriate personal protective equipment.

Vulcan Industrial Absorbent is a super absorbent mineral sponge with strong wicking action and ability to absorb twice its own weight in liquid (depending upon viscosity).

Hazchem Spill Kits are designed specifically for more reactive chemicals such as acids and based. The kits contain synthetic polypropylene absorbents, which are most suited to withstand chemical breakdown, as well as less likely to react with the spilled chemicals.
